Johanna Marie Nickas Point Of View On  Chapter 1,2,4,5,6,7,8,11,12,13,14,15,16,17 And Gender Inequality And Infrastructure And Climate Change

Group one's topic was Gender inequality it is the discrimination based on sex or gender causing one sex or gender to be routinely privileged or prioritized over another. Gender equality is a fundamental human right and that right is violated by gender-based discrimination. Gender stereotypes affect children's sense of self from a young age. Boys receive 8 times more attention in the classroom than girls. Girls receive 11% less pocket money than boys. Children classify jobs and activities as specific to boys or girls. Chapter 1 is about Communication Perspectives which are ideas, views, or fixed ways of thinking. Chapter 2 is about Perception Of Self And Others which means it is the same process as the perception of others just turned on oneself. We sense information about ourselves, either through self-appraisal or from feedback from others. We use this information to create our self-image, a list of our traits and characteristics. Chapter 6 is about Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process. Listening is key to all effective communication. Without the ability to listen effectively, messages are easily misunderstood. Effective listening is a skill that underpins all positive human relationships. Chapter 7 is about Interpersonal Relationships which means a social connection or affiliation between two or more people. Interpersonal relationships can include your partner, loved ones, close friends, acquaintances, co-workers, and many others who make up the social connections in your life. Chapter 8 is about Interpersonal Communication which refers to the entire process and practice of exchanging ideas, information, and even emotional experiences that can be shared between people.

Group two's topic was Infrastructure refers to the basic physical systems of a business, region, or nation. Examples of infrastructure include transportation systems, communication networks, sewage, water, and electric systems. the basic physical and organizational structures and facilities (e.g. buildings, roads, power supplies) needed for the operation of a society or enterprise. Chapter 5 is about Nonverbal Messages is the transmission of messages or signals through a nonverbal platform such as eye contact, facial expressions, gestures, posture, and body language. It includes the use of social cues, kinesics, distance and physical environments/appearance, voice, and touch. Chapter 15 is about Delivery which is in the context of public speaking, delivery refers to the presentation of the speech you have researched, organized, outlined, and practiced. Delivery is important, of course, because it is what is most immediate to the audience. Chapter 16 is about Informative Speaking is a 10-minute presentation written and performed by the student. Students in Informative must be articulate, engaging, and smooth with their delivery at both a vocal and physical level. The purpose of the event is to inform and educate the audience on a topic of significance. Chapter 17 is about Persuasive Speaking is the type of speaking that most people engage in the most. This type of speech can involve everything from arguing about politics to talking about what to eat for dinner. Persuasive speaking is very connected to the audience, as the speaker must, in a sense, meet the audience halfway.

Group three's presentation was on Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels (like coal, oil, and gas) which produces heat-trapping gasses. Chapter 4 is about Verbal Messages consisting of using words and sounds to communicate with another person. This contrasts with nonverbal messages, such as body language or facial expressions. Verbal messages consist of any type of speech or media that uses words and/or sounds to transfer a message. Chapter 11 is Topic Selection And Development is about Choosing your topic is the first step in the research process. Be aware that selecting a good topic may not be easy. It must be narrow and focused enough to be interesting, yet broad enough to find adequate information. Developing is the act, process, or result of developing new ideas is an interesting development in this case. Chapter 12 is about Organizing Your Speech. Speeches are organized into three main parts: introduction, body, and conclusion. Introduction. The introduction of the speech establishes the first, crucial contact between the speaker and the audience. Body. In the body, the fewer the main points the better. Conclusion. Chapter 13 is about Presentational Aids is the resources beyond the speech itself that a speaker uses to enhance the message conveyed to the audience. The type of presentation aids that speakers most typically make use of is visual aids: pictures, diagrams, charts and graphs, maps, and the like. Chapter 14 is about Language And Oral Style is designed to be listened to and to sound conversational, which means that word choice must be simpler, more informal, and more repetitive. The written language uses a larger vocabulary and is more formal.SPC is a very important class for a college person to take. I hope by the time I am done with SPC 1017 I become a better person so I can express my feelings and my ideas in a more advanced way. Speech Class hopefully will teach me how to organize my speech and be able to communicate better with peers. Finally, I want to be able to speak and argue persuasively frequently.
